Is BPAY Automatic?

No, BPAY requires you to make each payment manually. Some banks allow you to setup recurring payments using BPAY, however this will only pay a fixed amount each month, so if your account varies, you will not be paying the correct amount. Even if you set your internet banking account on a recurring payment, we will still treat it as a manual payment, and you will not get the benefits of AutoPay.

Why has the BPAY reference number changed (effective 4/6/2007)?

EscapeNet has changed your reference number to coincide with your account number as of 4th June 2007 in order to simplify the BPAY process. Previously, customers were given a different reference number with every invoice. This made it difficult for both EscapeNet and our customers. By keeping the same reference number it promises to be much easier for everyone.

What happens if i have paid using an old Reference Number?

If you have paid using an old reference number your payment should still be added to your account, however it may not be applied to your invoice correctly resulting in the payments taking longer than usual to process and the invoice appearing as outstanding through 'My Account'.

During this transition period EscapeNet will accept old reference numbers, however this will eventually be phased out so it will be best to start using your new reference number immediately.
